Darren Wrack blanks out broken leg memory on Yeovil return

Darren Wrack

DARREN Wrack will take the field at Yeovil tonight with the horrible memory of his last visit there, when he sustained an appalling leg injury, pushed firmly to the back of his mind.

At Huish Park in September 2005, Wrack suffered a broken leg and severe ligament damage in a crunching, but fair, collision with the Glovers' left-back Colin Miles.

The horrific injury cost him more than a year out of football - but 28 months on, Wrack has made a full recovery. And he insists that distressing day is ancient history.

"That was two years ago and it's all forgotten now," Wrack said. "The only thing on my mind tonight will be going there and hopefully getting three points.

"Obviously, I will think 'this is where it happened', but other than that I'll just get on with the job. If you ponder on things it might affect your game. I think I am professional enough to say 'right, let's get on with it'. Nobody is bothered about me tonight. It's how Walsall do that matters."
