Rhys Weston wants maximum points

WALSALL face a crucial quickfire home double-header with Northampton at the Banks's Stadium tomorrow followed by Brighton on Tuesday.

Against the Cobblers, the Saddlers will be aiming to complete back-to-back home league wins for the first time this season, after beating over Yeovil in their last home fixture.

And defender Rhys Weston reckons that, with demanding trips to Forest and Leeds to follow, a six-point haul must be the target from these two home games against fellow promotion contenders.

"Forest and Leeds away will be two of our toughest games so it would be great to go into them with a good haul from these two home matches," he said.

"Not being disrespectful to Northampton or Brighton, I think they are two winnable games. We are looking to get six points - that's the only way we can look at it and then we would go into the Forest and Leeds games firmly cemented in the play-offs zones.

"Northampton are a tough prospect and Brighton showed when we went down there they are a decent footballing side.

"But if we acquit ourselves properly we should be okay. At this stage of the season you take a win over a performance.

"We are in a results business and just want to win games by hook or by crook, even if not playing well.

"We have a tremendous work ethic, which showed again at Luton last Saturday. Conditions were not the easiest but everyone gave 100 per cent and that is what you need to mount a serious promotion challenge."
