Geoff Horsfield training with Walsall

FORMER Blues and Albion striker Geoff Horsfield, 34, is training with Walsall.

Manager Jimmy Mullen said: “Geoff hasn’t been playing for anyone recently since he left Scunthorpe last season. He’s had one or two offers to play in the Conference or to go and play abroad.

“But he lives in Lichfield and likes it there. He’s been doing his own training but had become a bit sick of going to the gym on his own.

“Geoff became friends with my assistant John Schofield when they were at Scunthorpe and asked if he could train with us.

“I haven’t seen Geoff play for 18 months now and he’s been doing nothing of late.

“I’ve had a request from the lad to do some training with us – that’s all it is at the moment.’’
