Ishmel irks boss Mullen

WALSALL manager Jimmy Mullen is fast running out of patience with fans’ favourite Ishmel Demontagnac.

The front-runner only featured against Carlisle United as stoppage-time substitute but still found time to develop a running dispute with the visitors’ Jennison Myrie-Williams.

The pair had already squared up to each other during the final moments of the game and then repeated their action at the final whistle.

A furious Mullen eventually intervened, grabbing Demontagnac around the neck before virtually flinging him down the players’ tunnel, which he followed up with a verbal lambasting.

Mullen was reluctant to discuss the situation afterwards, but did concede: “It’s a silly situation to find himself in, but he seems to want to have confrontation – and I won’t have it!

“I’ll deal with it in my own way. I’ve tried all sorts of things with him and so did the previous manager.

“I keep trying to tell people this. You see him like he was against Southend when he scored a hat-trick and he shows fantastic ability. Then you see him today.

“That’s what I have to deal with every week, every day.

“It’s not good enough. I’ve spoken to him too many times now. He’s got to learn and he’s got to grow up!

“He’s got to realise he must play as a team player, not as an individual.’’
