Port Vales Res 1 Albion Res 1

ALBION claimed a draw thanks to striker Stefan Morrison's 43rd-minute leveller.

Vale took the lead on 22 minutes through midfielder Robin Hulbert's low, 18-yard strike.

The Baggies then survived a miss from striker James Lawrie before fighting their way back into the game.

Midfielder Seb Lake-Gaskin should have scored from Dave Worrall's cross on 27 minutes before Vale keeper Lloyd Ransome denied Morrison a minute later.

However, Morrison pulled the Baggies level as he slid the ball home from close range after being set up by Worrall. Albion had the better of the second half but failed to find a way past a stubborn Vale defence.

The Baggies had their best spell in the final 10 minutes but Worrall and substitute Dwayne Samuels had efforts cleared off the line as Vale held on.

ALBION: Lloyd-Weston, Downing, Hancox, Mason, Saied (Baker, 85), Worrall, Labadie, Lake-Gaskin, Crompton, Morrison, Knight (Samuels, 71).
