Substitute Chris Wood should have grabbed a third but saw his deflected shot beaten away for a corner. From that resulting flag-kick, Jonas Olsson headed in Filipe Teixeira’s corner.

It was a decent performance from Albion. Moore and Cox’s exchanges were encouraging during the first half, while Greening picked passes out throughout his time on the pitch.

Youssouf Mulumbu’s energy and ability to win back lost causes - something last season’s midfield personnel were unable to do - dovetailed ideally alongside Greening.

Encouraging definitely, although the squad still looks a little thin.
