West Brom 3 Doncaster 1: Chris Lepkowski's Big Match Verdict

WHO will be Albion's next goalscorer? Who will claim the man-of-the-match Champagne? Frankly, who knows?

But, speaking with some certainty, I predict you will never hear the term 'One Man Team' bandied around The Hawthorns anytime soon.

From game-to-game you never really know who will be taking the glory next.

Yesterday's victory against Doncaster Rovers was no different.

Some weeks ago we were raving about Youssouf Mulumbu, Luke Moore and Graham Dorrans.

Then up popped Roman Bednar with two goals at Sheffield United. Just before then Craig Beattie scored three goals in the few games before he gave up football to emigrate to south Wales.

Marek Cech scored twice with Own Goal even taking some of the plaudits this season during the opening few games.

And now we have Jonas Olsson and Chris Wood.

Olsson scored twice to technically become the club's joint top scorer on two goals - Beattie, on three, of course no longer being at Albion - while 17-year-old scored the kind of goal which will one day entertain his grandchildren.

Twelve - yes, 12 - different scorers have shared the glory during the club's nine-match unbeaten run. Joe Mattock and Gianni Zuiverloon were the only starters of yesterday's 10 outfield players to have not scored this season.

Roberto Di Matteo's men were hardly emphatic against Doncaster. At times they wheezed too much, they struggled for momentum and consistency. Passes went astray. Sometimes they didn't know whether to be direct or pass it around. Convincing they weren't. Consistent? Well, what does the League table say?

Albion, once again, bounced back to win by two clear goals after going one behind. It was another character-building display.

And that, in many ways, is the beauty of Albion at the moment - they are winning games, collecting points, without actually playing too well. Logic suggests that good performances will produce even better results.
