MacDonald urged to forget penalty miss

Sherjill MacDonald reflects on his crucial penalty miss against Middlesbrough

TONY Mowbray is confident Sherjill MacDonald will bounce back following his decisive spot-kick miss during the shoot-out.

The Dutch striker, on loan from AGOVV Apeldoorn, smashed his shot over the bar during sudden-death after George Boateng had converted his penalty.

Mowbray believes Holland's under-21 marksman will not dwell on last night's game, especially as Albion have already lost Nathan Ellington to a three game ban after he was sent-off for a foul on Stuart Parnaby.

"Sherjill will be a big asset and the fact he missed a penalty is neither here nor there for me," added Mowbray. "I'm sure he'll score plenty of goals for our side."
