Slusarski out on loan as Hartson nears Albion exit

Bartosz Slusarski

ALBION striker Bartosz Slusarski is set for some much-needed match practice after joining Blackpool on loan - as Chester emerged as possible suitors for John Hartson.

Slusarski, who joined Albion from Groclin Dyskobolia for £680,000 this summer, has joined the Seasiders until January 1 although the Baggies have a recall clause in place after 28 days.

The 25-year-old Polish international has found it difficult to break into Albion's first team thanks to the form of the frontline strikers, his action limited to a six-minute appearance as substitute in last month's 3-2 defeat at Colchester.

He has however notched six goals in nine games for the Baggies second string, and even with Kevin Phillips out injured boss Tony Mowbray clearly sees a spell picking up Championship experience elsewhere will help Slusarski adapt to the rigours of English football.

Meanwhile League Two highflyers Chester have confirmed they hope to land 32-year-old Hartson on loan ahead of tomorrow's closure of the window with a view to making the deal permanent.

Well down the Hawthorns pecking order, Hartson recently saw a spell at Norwich come to an end after Glenn Roeder took over as Canaries manager.

Chester chairman Stephen Vaughan revealed: "We have approached West Brom, with a view to taking Hartson on loan and then making the move permanent."
