No late moves in the transfer market for Tony Mowbay

Tony Mowbray

WEST Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray looks set to shelve any plans to dip into the loan transfer market.

Mowbray did consider bringing in at least one signing before next Thursday's deadline but has opted against it as his squad is expected to be boosted by the return of James Morrison, Chris Brunt, Leon Barnett and Sherjill MacDonald over the next two-to-three weeks.

Brunt (hamstring) has resumed training following his hamstring problem, with Morrison (ankle) also due back for next Saturday's game against Colchester.

Barnett (hamstring) is expected to be back in time for the FA Cup semi-final against Portsmouth, although MacDonald faces a race against time to be fit in time for Albion's trip to Wembley as he is due to undergo a minor operation.

"You only look at loan market if there is the right quality available to you and at this moment in time I would suggest it's something we won't be doing," said Mowbray.

"We've looked at it but we won't bring players in just for the sake of adding numbers and not adding quality to the squad."

Carl Hoefkens returns today at Charlton after his recent hamstring problems.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Albion will wear their home kit in the FA Cup semi-final against Portsmouth.
