X-Box factor helps James Morrison focus

James Morrison

X-BOX addict James Morrison has turned to cyber warfare to help keep him focussed for Albion's promotion push.

Morrison, known on the games' scene as Jimmy Mozza, has been pounding the console in his spare time, after training and in-between matches.

The Baggies midfielder has been taking on all-comers, including Albion fans, current and ex-team-mates and even Wolves supporters.

He said: "I play on my X-Box all the time, mainly Call of Duty.

"I’ve been getting a lot of fans trying to play me online.

"Wolves fans may have been gunning for me all week but I had the last laugh on Tuesday night to help move us closer to promotion.

"Richard Chaplow (now at Preston) and Robbo (Paul Robinson) are both on it.

"Chappy’s having a baby soon so he hasn’t been on it much lately.

"When I’m bored I just play. I’ve got a few friends from Middlesbrough and have bit of banter with them too – it’s good fun."

Morrison admits he finds it difficult to unwind after midweek games.

"After the Wolves game I couldn’t sleep," he added.

"The adrenalin was still pumping and I think was still awake at 4am.

"It ruins your sleep pattern and you have a sleep in the day to catch up."

One thing Morrison is very clear about is his decision to quit Middlesbrough and move to The Hawthorns.

"Coming here has been a great move for me," said Morrison, who joined Albion for £1.5million following 94 games for Boro.

"I’ve played a lot of games this season and enjoyed the experience of trying to get promoted.

"I was just ticking along in the Premier League but in this league it is very exciting.

"Everytime I play there is a goal at the end of it."
