Albion fail final test
ALBION suffered defeat to Morecambe in the Pontin's Holiday League Cup Final after a tense penalty shoot-out.
With the match locked at 1-1, Morecambe keeper Shwan Jalal was the home side's hero with two penalty saves from Sherjill MacDonald and Jared Hodgkiss as the League Two newcomers took the trophy after missing just one of their five kicks.
Lateef Alliyu gave the Baggies the lead in the first minute.
After soaking up a lot of pressure Morecambe hit back with a header from Simon Grand, which looped over Michal Danek to set up the spot-kick climax.
