Craig Beattie: West Brom have will to beat relegation
Dec 29 2008 by Mark Woodward, Birmingham Mail
“The manager and the players all believe they are good enough to stay in the league and the fans help when they get behind us. It’s all positive.”
Beattie admitted he was pleased to be back on Tony Mowbray’s radar following his spell at Selhurst Park.
“I have been on loan to Palace and got games, goals and confidence, and I feel like I am going to score every time I go on the pitch,” added Beattie. “I am confident when I go on the pitch.
“I was called back because Ishmael (Miller) got injured and I was needed to boost the numbers.
“The manager is going to bring in players to create competition and that can only be healthy.
“But Luke got off the mark last week, I’m off the mark now and Roman (Bednar) has notched a few goals as well.
“At the moment the strikers are doing well and we’re looking like keeping clean sheets.
“I knew he could call me back but thankfully the loan lasted long enough for me to get games and goals and get match fit.
“I am grateful to Palace for allowing me to do that and hopefully West Brom will reap the benefits now I am fit and I have got my eye in.”
