West Bromwich Albion: Club praised for not spending big

DEAN Kiely has praised Albion for opting to not spend “Monopoly money” during the transfer window.

Albion are restricting themselves to loans and Bosmans, with the former more likely than the latter.

The Baggies goalkeeper believes the club are correct to take a prudent approach to their January spending.

The experienced keeper said on his website: “I think it’s right a proper when our fans are suffering financially that we’re prudent and clubs don’t start spreading cash around like it’s Monopoly money.

“We had great players at Charlton and we have great players at West Brom, but those clubs have the financial muscle to put together teams of world class players.

“If you don’t have a bundle of money you have to have something else. You need to get a good group of players together who are prepared to gel as a team, sweat blood for the cause and squeeze out those extra yards on the pitch.
