“The manager has put together a squad of players here who respect each other and are prepared to put their bodies on the line.
“It all gets magnified because it’s crammed into a short space of time and there’ll be the usual panic buys by some clubs I’m sure. I have total confidence in our manger that if he thinks he needs someone he’ll have done his homework and we’ll get the right man.
“I look around the training ground at West Brom from Monday to Friday and I feel comfortable with the group of players we have. Of course it’s possible there will be one or two new faces and if that adds to the competition it’s a good thing.
“I think the transfer market will be a bit quieter than usual because of the general financial situation, and that’s how it should be.”
