West Brom's deal for Youssouf Mulumbu in danger of collapse

ALBION's deal for Youssouf Mulumbu was in danger of collapse today.

The pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder has hit a snag over a technicality, which has not been disclosed by either club or player.

It is possible the £250,000 deal may still go through but it remained a doubt as of this morning, although talks were continuing.

Albion are still hoping to bring in at least one more player before Monday's transfer deadline, regardless of whether the Congo international signs.

Mulumbu is regarded as an 'underbelly' signing for Albion, much in the same way as Graham Dorrans or David Worrall.

But Mowbray is still looking at other defensive midfielders who would be ready to step straight into Albion's first team.

Christian Obodo remains very much on Albion's radar with talks ongoing with his club Udinese.

But there are at least three or four other potential targets, with another forward also on the list.
