West Brom: Marek Cech set to leave Albion in the summer

TONY Mowbray has revealed he may be prepared to let Marek Cech leave Albion in the summer.

The Slovakian has been unhappy with the lack of first-team opportunities since his £1.4million move from Porto last July.

Cech has twice expressed a desire to leave Albion in recent weeks, notably after being surprisingly dropped for the Villa derby following a star performance in the previous Premier League game against Spurs.

He feels his lack of Premier League outings may compromise his international prospects.

Mowbray, while sympathising with the 26-year-old’s frustrations, has revealed that he has no wish to keep unhappy players at The Hawthorns and may be willing to grant Cech a way out if he still wishes to leave.

“Marek is turning out to be a very good professional but he is frustrated and wants to play,” Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail.

“He came here to play and has found himself out of the team, and yet he gets his head down and gets on with it and I think he understands that this is professional football.
