West Brom: Marek Cech set to leave Albion in the summer

“At the same time, I have shown in the past with unhappy footballers that if they want to leave I am more than happy to try to facilitate that for them.

“We’ll see in the summer how Marek feels about the situation.

“You can’t speculate what will happen to Marek but if he’s not happy in the summer then I am more than happy to discuss his future with him and his advisers.

“If he needs to get away to play football we will try to make it happen as long as it isn’t a detrimental business deal for the club and that he can be replaced.”

Mowbray feels Cech can still play a major role for the club this season and has no qualms about his ability.

“Paul (Robinson) might get injured this week and Marek might play the last 13 games and be the happiest lad in the world,” added the manager. “He is getting his head down, he is no trouble whatsoever, he understands the situation and he is working hard in training.

“He knows when opportunities arise he will play and he has shown in the past when he does play he is a very good player.”
