West Brom head for the sun - but Mowbray warns it won't be a holiday
“We would have had a bit of fun this week and relaxed, and not been too over concerned about the players away on international duty or the players out with injury. Yet, here we are, we didn’t win and we want to get back to work.
“Hopefully by next week we will have some grass to train on, and get on with some work.”
Mowbray hopes the training camp will get his squad in the best shape, both physically and mentally, for the vital run in to the end of the season.
“We are going away on Sunday for three or four days and that is always going to be a working environment for us,” he said. “It is very important because we have come to a very crucial stage of the season.
“This break isn’t anything other than a working trip. We will be training on the grass, taking all our video analysis systems with us and going through the tapes with the players, the different departments of the team. It will give us an opportunity to sit down in the evening and talk to the players about their own performances, how they can improve and what they need to do.
“It is just nice to get away to an environment where the players don’t have to disappear after lunch to pick up their kids from school. They are in a controlled environment where we can keep working on them all day and evening if we need to. We will be reflecting on the season with the individuals and trying to do some work with the team.”
Meanwhile, winger Chris Brunt scored his first international goal on Wednesday night as Northern Ireland beat San Marino 3-0 to move second in World Cup qualifying group three.
