West Brom coach Peter Grant backs Tony Mowbray to return a stronger manager

“But what you can’t do is make individual errors (on the pitch) yet that keeps happening.
“I think there’s no doubt Tony’s stock in the game has grown even this season and that’s great credit to him.
“You do feel like you’re letting people down when you’re not winning games.
“And the one thing I learned when I was a manager is that you often look back on a Saturday and know of all the work you’ve done in the week, you’ve prepared all you can yet you’ve lost the game.
“As a manager it does get you down because you are the figure head of a club, you represent the players, the club and the fans.
“And you want to do well so you do take the strain, no matter what your coaches and assistants are saying. You take that burden on yourself. So yes it does affect you.” Grant believes Mowbray will be going through the mill more than anyone.
“We hope it’s going to be successful on a Saturday,” he added.
“If it doesn’t work and you lose you’re despondent.
“If it does then you start thinking about the next game – coaches and managers are probably the only people who don’t enjoy victories because you are always preparing for the next game.
“Football is the best job in the world, bar none. As coaches we want to be working in the Premier League but to do that you have to cut out the individual mistakes we keep making.”
