West Brom star won't look for a move

JAMES Morrison today insisted he would not push for a move from The Hawthorns in the likely event of Albion’s relegation.

The Baggies midfielder will be one of the players tipped to leave if Albion fail to stay up although club sources insist that there are no plans to sell Morrison.

Even so, Albion’s resolve would be sorely tested if they received an offer for the Scotland international - not least as any parachute payments would be tied up in existing players’ contracts, significantly reducing next season’s transfer budget.

The Baggies will also be mindful that former club Middlesbrough are due 15 per cent of any sell-on fee.

Morrison, who still has two years left on his current deal, is content to stay at B71 and, domestically, it would suit him as his girlfriend works for Blues.

But he would have to re-consider his options if Albion decided to cash-in.

“I’ve got a contract and the club pay me to play so I am loyal to them,” said Morrison.

“You never know in football what’s going to happen but I am fully committed, as I always have been.

“It is Premier League football and everyone wants to play in the Premier League so if it did happen I would have to weigh up my options.
