Mowbray takes look at Scottish striker Griffiths

TONY Mowbray has revealed more about his pursuit of Livingston striker Leigh Griffiths.

The 18-year-old checked in for a trial earlier this week and has impressed the Albion boss.

Mowbray stopped short of revealing whether he would try to sign Griffiths, but has already stated that the striker, who scored 20 goals in 26 appearances for the Scottish side, was one for the future.

Albion signed Graham Dorrans from Livingston last summer and Mowbray is keen to continue the links between both clubs.

“The relationship between the two clubs has allowed Leigh to come down for a few days,” said Mowbray, whose side take on Sunderland tomorrow.

“We got Graham from Livingston and he is showing he’s got the potential to be a decent footballer.

“And I think Leigh is a young boy with potential.
