West Brom boss has total faith in Graham Dorrans

Mowbray had had no worries about throwing Dorrans into a side which is scrapping for its life at the foot of the table, despite his inexperience.

“Young players might be good technically, they might be fast or tackle well but invariably they make bad decisions but experience gives you that,” added Mowbray.

“Wayne Rooney at 16 did the right things, Graham Dorrans at 21 makes more right decisions than wrong ones.

“When people talk about quality of footballers that’s what it is.

“I like our defenders but Rio Ferdinand at £30m might not make the same decisions or mistakes that our defenders or other defenders in the League make.

“Sometimes the very talented boys make better decisions whether they’re 18, 19 or 20.”
