Gianni Zuiverloon impresses Tony Mowbray at West Bromwich Albion

“But there is no doubt in his actual quality or ability to do the job as he showed in the first dozen games and has showed in the last half a dozen.”

Albion have a number of youngsters coming through the ranks.

Chris Wood has already emerged, with others expected to follow.

But Mowbray will not rush them through until Albion’s destiny is decided.

“There’s a few who are pretty close yet while we are in there fighting it’s not the time to throw them in,” he added.

“It’s about the battle we need to fight yet there are a few youngsters bubbling underneath which is exciting for our football club.

“Let’s see whether any of them get an opportunity.”

He praised Wood following his call-up to the New Zealand squad for the summer’s Confederations Cup.

“It’s great for Chris,” he added.

“He trained with us and looks more than capable for a young boy.

“He looks like a man holding his own with our players and it’s great credit to him that he’s going into the Confederations Cup. Hopefully he’ll use that experience to his benefit.”
