Sheffield United loan star Craig Beattie may yet return to West Brom

“The bottom line for Craig is that he’s a good lad and found himself third or fourth choice really.

“He is getting what he wants - which is regular football. Let’s see how it comes out in wash.”

Beattie is just one of three Albion players likely to be involved at Wembley, with Luke Daniels and David Worral in Shrewsbury’s party for their League Two decider with Gillingham.

“Luke and David are younger players and keep in touch with Dan Ashworth (Albion’s sporting and technical director) on a daily basis,” added Mowbray.

“So they know that we are watching and backing them all the way.

“Hopefully they can finish the job off and what a great experience it will be for them to get out onto the Wembley pitch and try and help the club win promotion.

“We are all delighted for them.

“Craig, again, it’s exciting for them. He went up with us last season.

“He wanted to play and I never stop players who want to play. He’s grasped the opportunity, he’s spent a bit of time on their bench yet has played an important part for them. We wish him well too.”
