TONY Mowbray has instructed West Brom board to do all they can to wrap up the signings of Youssouf Mulumbu and Juan Carlos Menseguez.
The Albion boss has always been confident of signing Mulumbu, on loan from Paris Saint Germain, but a little more reticent of his chances of bagging Menseguez, who came over from Argentine club San Lorenzo and is represented by agents who deal with several British-based south Americans.
Even so Mowbray aims to keep both players for next season.
“I would hope that both of those players could be signed up,” said Mowbray.
“I can only go to the board and give them my opinion on what I think should happen and in both cases the players have not acclimatised.
“There was a difficult period for them when they came in and neither found it easy with the pace of the game and the physicality.
“The strength and energy required for 90 minutes in the Premier League is a lot different from where they have come from.
“But they have acclimatised now and I think they’re at a stage with us where they can only push on and get better.
“I have had the benefit of working with them for a few months now and my own view is that we should try to pick up the options and get on with it.
