“I think they are both tied in as long as we want to pay the money we have agreed. Ultimately it is a decision for the board to make as to whether financially we can do the deals we agreed at the time.”
Mowbray feels both players have enjoyed their spells at The Hawthorns, despite the club’s relegation.
The duo have only really figured during the last few weeks of the campaign, despite signing in January.
But their arrival coincided with Albion’s mini, if ultimately unsuccessful, revival.
“I don’t think it was easy for a time because neither of them was getting in the team and they were here to play,” he added.
“But they were my decisions to make and the team is all-important, regardless of whether you have brought somebody from Argentina or Paris.
“They’ve got to be ready to benefit the team and I felt they weren’t at the time, but I could see qualities that would help the team eventually and here we are a few months down the line with both in the side and performing at a decent level.”
Meanwhile, Carl Hoefkens has revealed that he is hoping for a summer move to another Premier League club.
Hoefkens, who has barely figured this season, is expected to be released next week.
He said: “The adventure with West Brom is over. I have offers, but none in Belgium.
“My ambition is to pursue my career in The Premier League.”
