West Brom boss linked with Celtic switch

But his relationship with Jeremy Peace has become strained in recent times.
The Albion chairman claimed last Thursday that some of this season’s transfer kitty had not been spent wisely, although he never referred to Mowbray by name.
Mowbray was unhappy the following day after being told, just moments before the pre-match press conference, that Peace had gone public on his proposals to cut the first-team playing squad from 31 to 20 - a plan which Mowbray is clearly uncomfortable with. Mowbray made further references to this unease about this mandate during the post-match press conference at Ewood Park, when he questioned how a 20-man squad would cope with injuries next season.
Coincidentally or not, his weekly meeting with the local media, due this morning, was also cancelled and he is, at the time of going to press, unavailable for comment.
Even so, Mowbray would have a lot to lose by cutting his ties with Albion.
He has spoken, on more than one occasion, about the lack of quality on offer in the Scottish Premier League with the benefit of the hindsight he now has following his two-and-a-half-year spell at Albion.
Celtic are expected to move quickly. They play their Champions League qualifier in eight weeks time, a game which has already been dubbed as their biggest match of next season.
