West Brom youngster is desperate for skipper to stay

“I hope he stays at the club.”

Dorrans is in the latter stages of his rehab and hopes to be ready for full-impact training next week.

The midfielder suffered a broken metatarsal towards the end of last season but is making good progress, even though he is frustrated to still be sidelined from full training.

“I’m still recovering from the broken metatarsal at the end of last season,” he continued.

“Hopefully at the end of this week or start of next I can resume training properly.

“It was disappointing. I’d got into the team but it gave me six weeks off to recover (during the close season).

“The running is fine, it’s the twisting and turning that’s the problem. The footballing side is still a week or so away.

“It is frustrating given that we’ve got a new manager in.

“I was trying to be ready for the pre-season but I could do no more which is disappointing, especially as others will be two weeks ahead of me but that’ll make me all the more determined to get back into the side.”
