Marek Cech faces West Brom decision day

Marek Cech

MAREK Cech has revealed that his West Brom future will be decided over the next few days.

The Baggies left-back has been the subject of interest from several clubs in recent months.

But Cech has admitted that his Albion career may be on the mend following the arrival of Roberto Di Matteo and the departure of Paul Robinson to Bolton.

The Baggies are certainly keen to keep him despite the defender falling out of favour under Tony Mowbray, who preferred Robinson on the left side of defence.

Slovakia are in a strong position to qualify for next year's World Cup, which has left Cech with a conundrum.

He has to decide whether to seek a top flight club elsewhere in Europe or stick with Albion, knowing that playing in the Championship may hamper his international hopes.

But he also appreciates that his first-team hopes have been given a boost following the summer changes.

"At this moment we are discussing things," Cech told the Birmingham Mail.

"We will see in the next few days how my future will pan out. I can't say now whether I'll stay or go.
