Why I want to sign winger - West Brom boss

Jerome Thomas

West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed his interest in the ex-Portsmouth winger Jerome Thomas.

But Di Matteo stated that, while Thomas was one of several players on Albion's hitlist, no deal had yet been agreed.

Thomas is available on a free transfer following recent trials for Hull and Wolves.

Di Matteo added that other players could be heading out of the door.

Ominously, Borja Valero's first-team exile continued, with the Spaniard among the several unused subs.

But Jonathan Greening, also on the bench, was merely rested, despite renewed speculation over his Hawthorns future.

Speaking about Thomas, Di Matteo said: "We are looking to get some players with different abilities and attributes to what we have.
