Cox gets Olsson‘s backing to score for West Brom

“It’s a big hurdle for any striker. It sticks in your head but he’s handling it very professionally.

“His strengths are his pace, he is very good and is basically a finisher – that’s why I’m sure he’ll be on the scoreboard soon.”

The computer fixture has not been kind to Roberto Di Matteo’s men – Albion travel to Nottingham Forest tomorrow before visiting Peterborough on Tuesday, hosting Ipswich next Saturday and then travelling to Sheffield United the following weekend.

Olsson feels Albion will soon get to grips with the Championship, not least as he believes the club’s squad is more than adequate to cope with injuries and suspensions. “It’s difficult,” added Olsson. “We want a good start but as we showed on Tuesday when we had six or seven away it showed we have a wide selection. This will be a strength for us come spring when injuries and suspensions are coming in.

“The result last Saturday showed we are on the right path.”
