Peterborough United 2 West Brom 3: Chris Lepkowski's Big Match Verdict

Peterborough v West Bromwich Albion

CONSIDERING this was a Roberto Di Matteo side, there was something very Tony Mowbray-esque about Albion's win at Peterborough.

There was excitement, goals and uncertainty right to the last kick. Mowbray would have loved it, but I suspect Di Matteo prefers to celebrate his wins without the need to worry, bite nails or find solace in post-match cigarette. This was not how Di Matteo generally wishes to win football matches.

Luke Moore ended up with two goals, with Chris Brunt scoring too but, despite some excellent first-half attacking play from Albion, there were one or two gremlins creeping into the backline.

Posh missed chances before they replied, through Craig Mackail-Smith just before the break.

Aaron McLean added a second in the 54th minute with the home side having a goal disallowed either side of the break. It was that close between victory and no points for Albion.
