West Brom: Onus is on experienced players after loss of duo says Robert Koren

ROBERT Koren believes the departure of senior duo Jonathan Greening and Paul Robinson will put greater onus on Albion’s more experienced players.

Greening and Robinson were the club’s third and second longest-serving players behind Neil Clement, who has been out injured for over a year.

Their departures mean that Koren is now the club’s second most experienced player at The Hawthorns, having arrived from Norwegian club Lillestrom just a few weeks before Dean Kiely did from Portsmouth in January 2007.

He feels he will need to give something back to Albion’s younger contingent.

“Those two players were big players for our club and big personalities too, so they are a big miss for us,” admitted Koren, who scored Albion’s second goal in the 2-0 win against Ipswich.

“But this happens in football and you need to move on. We have a different team now and different coaches so we need to be positive and look forward, not back.
