West Brom: Onus is on experienced players after loss of duo says Robert Koren

“Some of us are still here and we have experience of this league and we are trying to pass on that information to the rest of the lads.

“So far we are doing well and hopefully this will continue.

“The coaching staff are putting their mark down and trying to show us in training how we need to play.

“They know what kind of players we are and they are trying to find a way of playing that will suit everyone – not just me or one player.

“We all know there are difficult games and there is a lot of pressure and you need a lot of energy in this league.

“We need to cope with the pressure and aggressiveness, but we still want to play our style.

“In four games we haven’t conceded a lot of goals and that is something new compared to last year, so I hope we will continue like this and we will win games and get enough points in the end to get back to the Premier League.”

Koren played in central midfield for the first time in a while following Greening’s departure and due to Graham Dorrans’ suspension.

He added: “When Jonno was at the club I already had my role in the team so nothing has changed with me.

“Of course, he is a big miss for us because Jonno is a great player and a great person.’’
