West Brom star vows to show his best

“We saw Marek Cech score two last week, then he gets injured, I come in and score.

“It’s the kind of squad you need for promotion. There are no egos, we’re all happy.

“It’s like a family – the manager and Eddie have done a superb job.”

Thomas returns to Arsenal tonight admitting that without their ‘education’ he would not be playing top level football.

The winger started his career at the club, twice helping the Gunners to the FA Youth Cup during the 1990s.

“I went back there with Charlton at some point and it’ll be nice to go there with West Brom,” he added.

“It’s an amazing stadium, I know some of the staff there too so it’ll be nice.

“But I have nothing to prove. You can’t put a price on the education I got there - it was the best.

“We got the youth cup two years running with players like Sidwell, Aliadiere, Hoyte, Volz and we’re all playing now because of the education we got there.

“But we treat this game as another chance to try and get another win and keep going.

“We don’t want to be drawing, losing – we want to stay on a run. Burnley did it last season so maybe we can do the same thing.”
