West Brom: Jonas Olsson has a dream of playing on the big stage

The focus will now switch back to returning to winning ways when Crystal Palace are the visitors to The Hawthorns on Saturday.

However, Olsson believes that they can take plenty of encouragement from their performance, while down to ten men following Jerome Thomas’ red card, against Arsenal and that the defeat won’t knock their momentum.

“Tuesday’s result won’t affect us in the league – you have to look at how we played,’’ he sad.

‘‘We weren’t smashed at Arsenal. We played a great team with 10 men.

‘‘We showed that we’re in good shape. It wasn’t to be but we gave as good as we got.

“It’s hard enough playing Arsenal away with 11, let alone 10. Red cards are part of the game and it was unfortunate we got one but we can’t use it as an excuse

“The feeling afterwards was that the gaffer wanted to maintain the unbeaten record but he was disappointed that we lost but he knows you can lose in different kind of ways.

‘‘We did okay against Arsenal. The players have shown we are inspired by him.”
