ROBERTO Di Matteo has conceded that the demands of the Championship may force him to rest West Brom duo Graham Dorrans and Youssouf Mulumbu.
The young midfield pair have figured regularly for Albion this season, impressing the Baggies head coach with their enthusiasm, ability and other attributes.
However, Tuesday's defeat at Barnsley suggested that the frequent schedule of games, along with the high standards they have set, was finally starting to catch-up with them.
Mulumbu was subbed at half-time after suffering a knock during a poor display, while Dorrans was also well below par.
Di Matteo admits that 22-year-olds may need to take a back seat every now and again.
