West Brom: Jerome Thomas says he's learnt his lesson

“It’s a new experience for me – it was my first red” he said. “I really didn’t know what to do with myself.

“I apologised to all the players after the Arsenal game and said sorry to all the staff. I let the players and the team down and with the results going the way they did it just made me feel even worse. I don’t see myself having that problem again in the future.

“I didn’t enjoy being out for three games so I can’t wait to get back out there and crack on.

“My suspension is over now and I’ve been working hard to make sure I stay fit and sharp. I’ll be ready for Reading.”

Thomas conceded that watching Albion stumble along since then – they’ve drawn once and lost twice – had not been particularly easy.

“I’ve come to this club to bring something to the team and I was doing that when I was playing,” he continued.

“I’ve watched the games while I’ve been suspended and it’s no secret we’ve lacked a bit of creativity to get in behind teams.

“I think that’s maybe why we’ve dropped a few points in the last three games. I always give 100 per cent when I go out to play but the sending-off has made me even more determined to do well for the team.”
