West Brom: Carson rues missed opportunity

SCOTT Carson concedes that Albion missed a great chance to pull away at the top of the Championship.

The Baggies and second-placed Newcastle were four points clear of the chasing pack before yesterday's games.

But their defeats, along with victories for the likes of Middlesbrough, Preston, Cardiff and Blackpool, have caused the top of the division to concertina.

Carson admits Albion allowed a great chance to slip in last night's loss to an improving Swansea side.

“If we had been at it in the games we’d lost we could have been clear now," said the England international.

“But it’s a tough league and you can tell that by looking at the table.
