West Brom: We were naive says Eddie Newton
Oct 21 2009 by Chris Lepkowski
"Yet that's what we've asked in dressing room. We're all in this together, win, lose or draw."
Newton admitted the hectic schedule of the Championship - so far Albion have averaged a game every three days - does not help matters.
He added: "At present when things are going against us and the opposition are a hard nut to crack it needs a senior player just to say 'calm down', or 'don't go too mad' and when we lose possession 'don't go mad and chasing around'.
"We have to do everything together - attack together, be compact together, defend together.
"In the main we are doing it and we've played some fantastic stuff so far this season.
"But there will be times like this where we get hurt and it's hard.
"Robbie, I and the coaching staff need to look at the longevity of the season and find out why these things happen, why we lose the first goal, look at the naivity and try to work on it.
“It’s very hard to work on those things on the training ground.
“Every day seems to be recovery, recovery and tactical, tactical and you can’t really work on the subjects you want to work on.
“When we have a bit of time then we will work on it."
