Gonzalo Jara
"Ricardo Carvalho, Franco Baresi, Fabio Cannavaro - we can go on.
"Down the years it's been the same.
"Sometimes people may get hooked on height, or pace, or something else and they can get away with not having one or the other.
"David Beckham played on the wing yet never got past anyone with pace but give him half a yard and he'll get a cross in.
"Jara has made the adjustment from one side of the world to the other and done it straight away. It takes longer with some but he's come over and been excellent."
Speaking about Jara's impact overall, Newton went onto explain what made the club's most recent signing so special.
"He's been a fantastic acquisition and a total professional," he commentd.
"You look at him as soon as the whistle stops in training - he'll be stretching, taking in fluid - you don't need to tell him.
"He doesn't speak the language but he's trying to communicate on the pitch and telling people what to do already.
"He's not afraid to take responsibility. Technically and tactically he knows exactly what he's doing."
