West Brom boss expects a battle to the end

Roberto Di Matteo

"If you look at the squad and yes it's good but it's no good if players are out."

Di Matteo feels there is little hope of any team pulling away from the chasing pack this season, echoing Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan's claims that there were no outstanding teams in the Championship.

"You hope to pull away but I don't think any team willl do that this season," added the Italian.

"It's so balanced and narrow that it will probably go down to the last few or couple of games.

"Nobody has the strength to pull away.

"There are so many good teams in this division, as you see every weekend with the results. It shows how difficult it is to get three points and how balanced it is."

*ALBION are heading to La Manga next week.

The Baggies first-team squad will make full use of the international break to train in Spain during their five-day break.
