Stud Marks: Only Albion spur Goran
SKY Sports got it wrong yet again when they attempted to creep up to Goran Ivanisevic during the ATP World Tour Finals last week.
They sought out the Croat for an interview and showed him a replay of Tottenham’s nine goals against Wigan, thinking the 2001 Wimbledon champion would be impressed and wrongly assumed that the presence of Modric, Corluka and Kranjcar at White Hart Lane would sway his loyalties.
Not so.
Ivanisevic watched the clips before announcing he was actually a West Bromwich Albion fan.
But it hasn’t all been good news for his friend and Baggies supporter David Law, who commentated on the O2 tournament for the BBC and was responsible for introducing Ivanisevic to the delights of Albion.
Law has seen Albion play twice this season. Both times Roberto Di Matteo’s men lost. The superstitious Ivanisevic has banned him from attending any more Baggies games!
