SIMON Cox has revealed his Albion wishlist for 2010 - promotion to the Premier League, more goals and an international call-up.
The Baggies striker is eligible for the Republic of Ireland and though he is not pinning his hopes on a call-up to Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad, he admits that he would be thrilled to represent his adopted nation.
“I got a call from a journalist and then I got a call from one of their scouts and he was going to pass my number on to Liam Brady (coach),” said Cox.
“I’m sure if the performances and goals keep coming then the call will come.
“Ireland would be a massive bonus but I am not ruling anything out.
“If they came knocking or even if an England under-21s cap came along I would still take both of them.
“At the moment I am more focussed on being a regular first team player here and scoring and performing well, and if other things come later on that would be great.”
Speaking about his hopes for 2010, he added: “I want to play as many games as I can and score a lot more goals.
“If we can get promoted as a team and I can be involved in that I will be more than happy.
“Then if we do get promoted and I can be involved as many games as I can in the Premier League that would be great.
“But we have to get promoted before I can do that so I would welcome competition from everybody so we can set the bar as high as we can and get promoted.”
