West Brom's pursuit of new players is gathering pace as they continue their chase for Nicky Shorey.
The Baggies are keen to sign the 29-year-old to challenge Marek Cech for the left-back role at The Hawthorns, as revealed on the Birmingham Mail website yesterday.
But Albion also want to bring in at least one new striker with Moussa Dembele of AZ Alkmaar emerging as the latest target.
They have already held talks with his agent and have an established relationship with the striker’s club, having signed Ryan Donk on loan from the Dutch club two summers ago.
Albion will face competition for the £5 million-rated star’s signature, with Blues among several clubs wishing to sign him.
The Baggies have also not given up on Liverpool’s David Ngog.
