West Bromwich Albion: Roberto Di Matteo warns he can switch to Mr Nasty

A DETERMINED Roberto Di Matteo has warned he can switch to Mr Nasty if Albion don’t shape up.
The Italian head coach admitted last weekend’s 6-0 hammering at Chelsea was his “worst” result as a manager.
And despite standing by his players for today’s clash with Sunderland, Di Matteo admits his calm exterior cannot hold forever.
“I can get angry,” he said. “I know when to shout, when to raise my voice. It was probably my worst result as a manager. I can’t think of a worse one. I was just thinking ‘I’ve got another game on Saturday which I think we can win’.”
Di Matteo says both he and his squad are driven to succeed, not least by the fact the bookies now have them odds-on second favourites to be relegated along with Blackpool and Wigan.
“I noticed our predictions but also because of the history of the club we are written off straight away,’ he said. ‘‘We will do our best to change the reputation of this club. That’s our goal.
“We were written off before the season started so we were already playing against the odds.
“Whether it helps us at the end of the season I don’t know – we’ll find out in May. I would never give up. There are 37 games to go and other teams will be trashed.”
