West Brom: Di Matteo 'annoyed' with Brunt set-back

ROBERTO Di Matteo has expressed his annoyance at this week’s internationals after Chris Brunt returned to Albion with an injury.
The winger is expected to miss tomorrow’s game against Stoke after picking up a calf problem during his 45-minute outing for Northern Ireland against Morocco.
Di Matteo revealed his frustration at Brunt’s injury but conceded there was little that could be done.
Clubs expose themselves to fines from FIFA if they refuse to release players for international duty.
It leaves managers relying on the goodwill of football federations and international team coaches to ensure players are not overstretched.
Brunt’s injury could not have come at a worse time, given his recent good form.
Di Matteo is more annoyed that international friendlies were scheduled during what is traditionally a busy time for club managers.
“Chris Brunt picked up a groin injury on Wednesday and that really annoys me,” said the Italian.
“The others seem to be okay, thankfully. We’ve just had a run of playing four games in 12 days, he’s played them all and there’s been a lot of demand on them.
