West Brom reveal when Jonas Olsson should be back in action

Roberto Di Matteo hopes to have Jonas Olsson back by the middle of next month at the very least.

The Swede has been sidelined with a partially torn Achilles tendon.

Di Matteo said: “He is coming along and we are targeting the beginning of January or mid-January.

“So we will keep our fingers crossed that he is available for the second half of the season.

“He has been a big player for us.

“He is frustrated and when you are injured that happens because you want to get back and play as soon as possible.

“We had a meeting yesterday and I had everybody in there, injured players, guys who weren’t involved at the weekend and everybody else.

“It’s all about the team - I spoke to Jonas and Peter because I like to communicate and have an open-door policy.

“I don’t like to single people out and give them a sticker saying ‘injured’.”
