West Brom are keeping an eye on Graham Dorrans’ ankle with Roy Hodgson conceding that the injury was showing few signs of progress.

The Baggies midfielder has been out of action since turning his ankle in the final training session before Albion’s victory at Blues last weekend.

Hodgson was confident that Dorrans would be back for the April 2 clash with Liverpool.

But the Scotland midfielder might need further scans after it emerged that he was still struggling with pain.

On a brighter note, the Albion boss expects to have Youssouf Mulumbu back in training later this week following a minor muscle niggle.

“We still have problems with Dorrans,” Hodgson told the Birmingham Mail.

“We are concerned about that injury as he still hasn’t been able to put any weight on it.

“The medical staff are looking at that very carefully.

“We were hoping for a quick fix but Mark (Gillett, one of Albion’s medical staff) yesterday raised fears it might be a longer job.

“We should know later this week.

“We hope it won’t come to that but it is a concern.

“With Mulumbu we also have a concern.

“He has suffered two muscle injuries, one after the other.
